Start by searching your personal files.  Look for benefit statements, letters from your employer, and plan descriptions and documents.  If a union was involved, contact them.  Contact your local Chamber of Commerce , or the local library, who may track corporate histories.

• Use the online search tool at right to see if your plan has been taken over by Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) regulators.

• Contact one of the Pension Counseling Projects of the Administration on Aging at left.

• Request your Social Security earnings information and employer identification numbers at right.
